Donal Murphy Press Release 2009
Donal Murphy is at the forefront of Traditional accordion playing in Ireland today. A founder member of ‘Four men and a Dog’ and ‘Sliabh Notes’, two of the most respected Trad Bands on the Irish Music circuit. Donals accordion playing is steeped in the music of Sliabh Luachra, an area well renowned for vibrant dance music.
Donal recently released his debut solo album ‘Happy Hour’in Spring 2009. From foot- tapping Polkas & Slides, rousing reels, a haunting Air, a Ragtime classic, ‘Happy Hour’ has it all.
Following the recent sell out Album promotional tour with Steve Cooney- Guitar and Gino Lupari- Bodhrán / vocals, Donal and band plan to perform at some of the major festivals in Ireland & Europe. See www.donalmurphy.net for contact details & tour dates.
